Not going to lie brehs this shyt is pretty piff so far. Not better than hill house especially direction wise but still good horror. Reminds me a bit of in the mouth of madness.

this shyt is pretty crazy so far.
Meh... Just feels like a low rent Ocolus or very poor man's Hereditary from a directing standpoint to me. It can be pretentious as much as it wants to be and stuff as much filler soap opera drama as it can, but it doesn't make it entertaining. It's pretentious and themes are very paper thin. It muddles a narrative and bogs down the pacing.
Hereditary is in its own league. Hill House.. Nah.. pretty & boring scenes with in your faces themes that copies the dual time-line narrative from WestWorld and Ocolus(Which did it so much better) isn't that great or impressive. Hill House is still great, but it's not a masterpiece. It does what Marianne does. Borrows a lot of elements from past films with its own twist and call its own. It does it very well. They are neither world breaking original works of art. They are fun and entertaining series. I found one to be better suit my taste as I feel that Hill House's was very melodramatic and contrived. Marianne is what I wanted it to be. A horror series that wanted to be about horror through and through.
And honestly, it's not about that anyways. Horror genre is most the subjective film genre because fear isn't universal. It's a bunch of he said she said as which is better.
I will say... This post makes me wanna watch Ocolus again.
