Mariah Carey lipsyncing isnt that big a deal because we already know she has one of the best voices ever. It's not the same when it's already an established vocalist who does it.

If there's dancing, expect at the very least a backing track if not full lipsync. In a fukked up acoustic setting like a NYE bash, also expect lipsync. It's too difficult a thing to do live in certain instances. Any audio engineers can attest to that. If anything, we know Mariah can sing and she just decided NOT to.
