He only has to hire another dc to take his place since he’s going to keep Kelly’s staff. I know that what you are saying is what normally happens, but the players, the staff, the student body, all came out to support him for the job. They mostly kept him to keep their recruiting class together, and Fickell not talking cause his team is in the playoffs.
Also, Freeman is a catholic coaching at Notre Dame.
