Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather: Max Kellerman praises one and torches the other

On ESPN's sports talk show, "First Take", longtime boxing analyst Max Kellerman shared his thoughts opposite Stephen A. Smith as to whether or not he thinks Crawford will get the assignment.

"Absolutely," stated Max Kellerman on ESPN's First Take. "Given Pacquiao's nature, character and track record, I think he takes the fight."

While citing reasons why he believes the Pacman more than likely wouldn't "avoid" the current Super Lightweight champion at this stage in his career, Max could resist from torching long time Pacquiao nemesis, Floyd Mayweather Jr, in the process.

"Instead of letting the networks and the fans exploit the fighters, Floyd exploited the fans and the networks by not fighting the fights they wanted to see," Kellerman explained on ESPN. "By waiting for just the right time to fight just the right guy…when that guy means 'maximum reward/minimum risk'."

"It set a bad precedent from the fans' point of view for other fighters. Because what it taught other top fighters was to avoid risks when they're not worth money…wait until the risk goes down and the reward goes up, and then fight."

"From the fans' point of view, that's not what we want. We want the 'Pacquiao' model. Go head first into the biggest, baddest challenge. That's why Pacquiao has some losses, but that's what happens when you take real risks."

The HBO boxing analyst finalized his commentary by praising Manny for his seemingly unselfish and fan friendly career choices.

"As a boxing fan, I love the fact that Pacquiao takes on challenges, and Terence Crawford is the biggest, baddest challenge he could take on right now. And given Pacquiao's nature, character and track record, I think he takes the fight."

After all the rumors of top names that were being thrown around, to have it end up being Vargas is so lame.
Arum seems hellbent on taking them PPV L's with the Crawford/Postol card and now this. Probably gonna end up being a combined 45 people buying these joints.

Just curious for ya Floyd haters with this kellerman shyt. I've been a little out the loop but I'm chilling tonight.

Who has Floyd ducked or not pursued during his reign?

Let's say pac. Just to play devil's advocate. Ok, who else?

- Not diego
- Not his rematch with ol fukk boy people thought beat Him the first match
- not hatton
- went after de la Hoya
- not zab Juddah
- not canelo
- not cotto

Can't think of anyone else he ducked that should have been mandatory.. Khan? Lol

:francis:

How many gifts did he get before BATB beat that ass? He knocks out Sadam Ali and he's underrated :camby:

Sadam Ali was an aight lil prospect, and quiet as kept was out boxing Vargas until he started slipping. I'm not saying Vargas is some star or anything. Just that people act like he's absolute TRASH and i disagree with that. He better than the Devon Alexander, Guerrero, Algeri, Berto, Bundu tier if you ask me.

:usure: the same Vargas that was a right hand in the 12th round away from getting washed by Bradley???

Ok and? Bradley one of the best WWs out there until proven otherwise. He about to get washed by manny too most likely. I'm not arguing he on that level. just that he better than a lot of the trash opponents yall DON'T be talking about.

After all the wars and great matchups that Manny has given us I cant be mad at him for taking light touches and getting paid. The man is pushing 40 and doesn't really have anything else to prove to anyone.

I know I am not Tim Bradley's biggest fan but how you going to call him a bum?

Timmy is interesting because people have many different views on him on here

There are your legit Bradley stans (like Smoke)
The people who do not fukk with him (like you and I)
The people who don't stan him but recognize or think of him as a good fighter (several people)
The bandwagon cats that base their view on Timmy more on Pac losing to him in the first fight AND/OR the fact he lost twice to Pac..typically they are Floyd stans because I don't know a non Floyd Stan who acts like this lol

They looking for that KO moment again (its been 7 years since the Hatton KO... 7 years :why:)

So with Jessie Pac can fight aggressively and chase that KO without risking getting :deadmanny:'d.
