my biggest complaint was them cramming too much into one flick. Zod story line in its entirety could've been saved for a sequel. It's as if they were like lets put as much as we can into this project because aint no telling if there will be a sequel. IMO the fighting saved it. There wasn't that much fighting to begin with. It just seems that way because of how it was shot.

Movie could've been dedicated entirely to him discovering, coping with and learning to use his powers and how society learned to accept him so by the time Zod came they could've played it differently.

He could've struggled to harness his powers at first.. At the of the day, Superman is beneath Earth and it aint but so many villians you can write in for him to go up against. I personally would've said fukk the comics and kept Krypton in tact or at least those outposts

The ONLY thing that makes him superman is the suns radiation.. how he got to earth is all backstory filler. They opened pandora's box with this movie and how they told the story of krypton. They made Kryptonians look like a bunch of idiots. They have a machine that can convert planets into their own... THEY GOT THEIR OWN GOTDAM ALSPARK but they don't use it and they just stay on their planet and die
