Finally got round to watching this and let me first start off by saying kudos to snyder for a gallant and ambitious attempt. I liked that they went old school with putting superman in front of a blue screen as oppose to making a cgi looking human fly thru the air.I also liked that there was no romance and a serious tone kept throughout the flick.Russell crowe, chick ferrora, chris meloni and zod were easily the best parts of the movie.
While this movie easily trumps the last 2 ironmans, wolverine origin, green lantern, incredible hulk, captain america and last stand it missed the mark in spectacular fashion. Given the fact everyones savior nolan was co-writer I expected more but it all played out by the numbers from the jump. Why did krypton look so weird and what was with the "fast love" like technology
Was not a fan of the non linear way of storytelling.Yeah they couldnt do it the normal way for obvious reasons but the way it was done seemed amateur. The transition between the baby landing on earth to being on the boat or how lois/clark and the military all hooked up to find the ship was just
Yes its a superman movie but there is such a thing as excess and unnecessary action.Dont know if it was a case of holding out in the first half only to go balls to the wall in the 2nd but after seeing, broken glass, destructing buildings, debris, and explosions over and over it stopped looking cool and was sort of boring (esp when it got to the final battle) There came a point where it became too much and the cgi was blade's fight with vampires in front of lights/neo vs smith levels of horrible CGI.
I guess my main complaint is that after the movie was finished I was left with the feeling that "after 35 years that was the best they could do with one of the most iconic comic book heroes, with the so called gawd being co-writer/producer"
That didnt really need to be made
