Cavill is listed as being 6'1 and standing next to director Zack Snyder (who is 5'7) he looks about that height. Unless Snyder is barefoot and Cavill is standing on a milk crate in this pic.
I have a friend who is out in Hollywood now shooting a pilot and he lists himself as 5'11".
Fact of the matter is he's 5'7"-5'8" on a good day.
Actors lie about their heights. It's in their best interest. Same way NBA players do. Dana Barros (former 76'ers/Celtics player), who I know personally, was always listed as 5'11" on official stat sheets but that nikka barely broke 5'7"
And in my opinion if Snyder is actually 5'7", Cavill doesn't look 6'1" in that pic.

Feel bad for the police if they ever need you to list someone's height. Judging from the angle of the photo and using the background as a reference, they're about the same height

they can do a lot with lifts and camera angles...I'd rather they get someone with the charisma for the part that can competently handle the dialogue than some dude that looks the part
So let's say he's 6'-6'1". The boots will add a tiny bit of height. And Superman doesn't tower over people too much. He's 6'3" according to the comics.

Tom Cruise tends to look like a normal size grown man instead of a midget in all of his movies so I am sure that Cavill will look more than tall enough as Superman and it won't have any effect on his performance.
