Very valid points. Let's also not forget that Zod was beginning to realize how much his powers were getting close to Superman's powers because he was taking in the Sun now too. Just flying up might not have worked since Zod could have planted himself firmly to the ground.

From the first scene between that army dude from Law and Order & the HOT ass female kryptonian, it was forshadowed that they will kill each other

Saw the flick last night. Amazin movie. Comic Book movie of the year. Fight me.

Watched it yesterday I might have to call it the best in the genre, simping was kept an all time low, the kiss and the dialogue that followed it though... 
I could do with out that.
Some notable scenes that stuck with me... Clark embracing his mum after coming back home
Realizing his Mother was in danger when she was getting thrown around like a rag doll, I felt that.
No disrespect to the girl who played Louis I don't think she fit the role physically.
I don't get the hate for the movie by the critics I don't know the general consensus of the people who saw it but it held my attention through out, those fight scenes
I tried watching both the Avengers which I can't get past that scene with Black widow tied to a chair and 10/15 minutes of Iron man, but this was nice through out.

Look I understand maaaaaan! I'm just mad Zod had to die, I was rooting for himher and the 11 ft. Goon were like the super Chris and Snoop. Zod didn't even want beef with Jor El.
Zod isn't dead........He was just stopped. I totally expect the United States Government to take his body, set his neck straight, and bathe him in Sunlight...He isn't dead until we see the body!!!
