I have comcast, and as a company, they are the ABSOLUTE WORST to deal with. and don't ever have to call in with a fukking problem or a question. they're always a headache to deal with. and even returning equipment is a pain in the ass, cuz EVERY time I go up to the payment center, there's a ridiculous line with a 45 minute wait. it's fukking ridiculous.

as for data caps, they aren't in most of the comcast markets, but I bet they come to everyone sooner or later.

I have had these cocksuckers for the last 12 years now :pacspit:

I even worked there for a year, and it was the WORST job experience in my life by far.

man, I have had cable/internet service as an adult for damn near 15 years now. first couple years it was at&t broadband. they were good. decent prices, good service, customer service was no problem from what I can remember.

but comcast bought them nikkas out in 2003 in this market, and I been with them ever since. constant fee increases, and of course shytty customer service.


on a side note, I had to call them this evening since this thread was made due to me not being able to see my bill online anymore, and MIRACULOUSLY, I got someone competant on the phone. usually, I get some kidna immigrant that's either indian or hispanic with a HORRIBLE accent.

This time, I got a well-spoken black woman from the south, and she was able to easily resolve the minor issue with me not being able to see my bill in a matter of minutes :blessed:

as for data usage, it says I have used 159GB this month, but we only get 250GB per month but the data threshold is suspended, so it's no big deal going over.

last 3 months, I been averaging between 400-500GB, but I also work from home, so that's gonna eat up a lot of my data as well.

I guess im blessed i have a local service although they won't put fios in my area so im trapped at 10 mb down its unlimited

lucky for us, there's multiple cable companies in chicago like WOW and RCN. Also got u-verse, dish, and direct tv as well.

How is RCN? WOW and ATT are out of the question. Comcast with all their bullshyt is the only company with quality Internet service

I agree with the op and i'm not even an internet addict. 300gb can be eaten up pretty fast if you're on youtube a lot hell, even accessing a site like this overtime can add up especially if you're downloading gigs and gigs of movies.

I haven't gotten this email yet, but If I do i'll just call them up and threaten to cancel my service. Usually when you threaten to leave they'll be willing to waiver tacked on fees like gb-limitations.

I worked in the call center. 3-12.

so my shift time sucked. I had split days off (mon and thu)

also the job sucked. I mean the center I worked in took ONLY calls where people had billing issues or technical issues. this meant 99.9% of the people who called were mad as hell. then on top of that, the phone would ring non-stop. I mean like the call queue was overflowed at all times. which means you were taking back to back to back to back calls the ENTIRE shift (except on sundays which were never busy for some reason).

you can't be off the phone, without writing why in a book. I mean they damn near trippin when you trying to take a shyt in that joint. and the pay was ass. I was making like $12/hr and that's including my shift differential. and I had to stay at that job, cuz I had a newborn at the time, and was working a second job during the day. I had to get that money by all means necessary to take care of my seed.

THE ONLY redeeming thing about the job was you got free cable/internet. benefits were good tho. and I guess unlimited overtime if you wanted it.
