He wasn't fraudulent in the sense that he made shyt up, but he omitted chapters that Malcolm wrote about his organization and he barely covered Malcolm's trips to Africa/Europe and the alliances he was building.
Manning Marable, who was imperfect himself in writing his Malcolm bio, found these pages and exposed them some years ago.
As for him being an informant, I'll look it up at home but youtube dikk Gregory and also Manning talking about it. I won't say there's hard evidence, but the fact that he excluded those chapters (which is a fact) plus the reasons people thought he was an informant (he ran with some other reporter who was a known informant) add up to me.
