No I think his most recent party affilaition is a better indicator of his political views.

Sure, ignore logic for what feels good to you. I bet if I call my car an Aston Martin, it'll be one too.

He said that a wage increase for NYC workers was "communism" so I think it's obvious that he leans to the right.
He also is pro-choice, for gay marriage rights, and strong arming Republicans in Congress:
Bloomberg's advice to Democrats on debt: Strong-arm Republicans in Congress - Yahoo! Finance :pachaha:
A lot of black people are anti gay marriage rights, but they are still democrat. One stance doesn't make you something.

As to Democrats wanting to control you, that's what is known as a "meme". How are Democrats trying to control you by making sure that you have health coverage? :heh:
People wan't higher taxes on the rich and corporations, because they are at historic lows. Check the polls on this issue.

When the government controls your healthcare, they also control the means by which you can get it. Thankfully we still have private options. The more government sources people have to lean on, the more involvement the government will have in your daily life.

You want someone to pay for your healthcare? Don't be surprised when they don't wanna let you eat every damn thing you want. :pachaha:

The debt deal was not a partisan thing... is it a left right issue if you default on the faith and credit of the United States? The Republicans were totally out of line by black mailing during the debt debacle... it is totally a necessary function of the economy for the U.S. to pay it's debts.

The government actually has NO control over the health-care of Americans. They simply have mandated coverage. They also mandated that at least 70% of all premiums must go towards coverage and not salaries and bonuses. As far as "leaning on government sources", even if you ideologically believe that, the affordable care act is not an example of that, because the government is not involved in delivery of healthcare or the coverage.

He's still democrat on pretty much every major issue. And I can put a title on anything, that doesn't make it that.

But taxpayer dollars go to it (not to mention it will be illegal for you not to have it after a certain amount of time), meaning it's a public service, meaning it's a government issue and an expense for them, more costs, mor expenditures, more of my tax money going into the shyt.

I don't wanna pay for a nation of fatties who can't help themselves when I'm healthy :pachaha:

This is cool and all, but you do realize that the "freedom" to sell whatever you want without any regulation was surrendered a LONG time ago, right? :ld:

He is not a Democrat on every major issue though...

Michael Bloomberg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

He's clearly liberal on social issues, which in view are totally irrelevant.

On Policy issues he's clearly conservative. He even supported Bush in 2004.

As for the Affordable Care Act... it actually saves the tax payers hundreds of billions of dollars, it is not a new spending program.

This law is mad dumb just because it isn't that far reaching and Bloomberg's just doing it because he's an a$$hole who likes to show off how much power he has. Not to mention that it doesn't cover milkshakes or those big-ass frappucinos.

But :scusthov: at people getting all worked up because they need to carry their liquid diabetes in one cup instead of two. If you really need to drink that much soda can't you just go to the corner store? Goddamn.

Breh. You're post is from wikipedia. You didn't even know Bloomberg was a large democrat and that he only ran as a republican because he couldn't win as a democrat.

Let's be fictitious reality. Bloomberg runs for president: Which party is he running under? Keep in mind we already know he switches parties for votes.

It saves middle to lower middle class and lower class tax payers. In any fashion, the PUBLIC pays for it. It is a government expense, meaning that if costs go up (obesity related sicknesses are a big/growing issue), the public has to suffer, through cuts and regardless of whether that public being taxed is poor or rich. You can't do anything you want on the dime of someone else.

:snoop: Why am I even discussing this with a Canadian? :merchant:

The real issue is the govt is trying to control what people are doing.

That's the reason we are upset.

Its not actually over the soda but the principal behind it.

Any one arguing for the ban is a fukking idiot.

You dudes crying about taxes :russ: stop it.

:dead: @ these kids worried where the 48 bucks they pay in taxes in going. Prolly got pissy lil kids and fam on welfare.

Shout out to Broke Wave for slaying fakkits in numerous threads .
