It was always the best thing for the franchise especially if Bron followed the same plan. But he's obviously not willing to wait one more year.Re: that Franky Ice tweet about opting in - it's actually a win for Melo cause every year the max contract value goes up. Eat this year at the current deal (still like 21 or 22 mil), enter UFA in 2015 and we can pay him more max money with STAT, Chandler, Bargs gone. That's 45-46 mil off the books. That's IF that's what Jackson and Dolan have in mind.
what a clown...literally. i know he has a lot of time on his hands with the playoffs still going on, but unless it's him working on his PG skills, finishing at the rim & strengthening his knees through non-weights-based exercises...i don't wanna hear about this dude all summer. in fact, maybe he's too strong & needs to shed a few pounds to help his goddamn knees.

He needs more than just him working on his game to see any type of improvement. There's middle schoolers with a more polished game than him. He's been working on his game since the season ended. He's got Videos up of his off-season training

EXCLUSIVE: New York Knicks point guard Raymond Felton nearing plea deal for pistol possession case
NY Knicks Raymond Felton was charged with third-degree weapons possession after his estranged wife and her attorney brought the handgun to the 20th Precinct stationhouse on Feb. 24.
New York Knicks point guard Raymond Felton is nearing a plea deal in his pistol possession case, the Daily News has learned.
Felton’s case was called in Manhattan Criminal Court on Thursday — days ahead of its original date — without a courtroom cameo by the hoops star.
During the hearing, the prosecutor told Judge Lisa Sokoloff things were headed toward a plea, possibly in time for Felton’s next court date on June 23.
Barry Williams for New York Daily NewsKnicks guard Raymond Felton currently faces up to seven years behind bars on the top count.
“We’ve been attempting to work out a disposition, and both sides need just a little more time,” Assistant District Attorney Jonathan Rebold said.
Rebold said he’s “hopeful” that by the next appearance “we will either have a disposition” or a date for the case to be settled by. It remains to be seen whether the DA will push for jail time under the state’s strict weapons laws or if he will get a break. He currently faces up to seven years behind bars on the top count.
Felton’s lawyer, Jim Walden, did not respond to messages for comment. The Manhattan DA’s office declined comment on the anticipated deal.
Felton was charged with third-degree weapons possession after his estranged wife, Ariane Raymondo-Felton, and her attorney brought the Belgian-made semiautomatic handgun to the 20th Precinct stationhouse on Feb. 24. The firearm was allegedly stashed under the bed at their Upper West Side apartment, where it remained after he moved out once they called it quits after 19 months of marriage.
Defense attorney Thomas Kenniff, who is not involved in Felton’s prosecution, said it “seems likely” a case like this “can be resolved with a no-jail plea,” for a defendant with a clean record.
