She was clearly about to stab that girl. This altercation went way beyond a girl fight. Nothing will and should happen to officer. He get reprimanded for shooting so close to girl in pink but He probably saved her life

This could have been handled much better, especially since she’s a teenage girl, but she was attacking someone with a knife. That’s potentially life and death. The optics are bad but he won’t be charged.

She was an immediate lethal threat in contact with someone. You’re wondering why lethal force was used? If someone is attacking you with a knife, you would hope someone armed with a gun and a taser will do more to help you than fire off a taser before your ass gets sliced

The man was aggressive and began to charge toward the officers with the knives. The officers backed away, drew their firearms and ordered the man to stop and drop the weapons.

Soon after, Officers Gino Sergio, Nicholas Mantalos, Clint Apaza, Canine Officer Steven Kingsley and K9 Papi also arrived to the house.

The man told the officers that he wanted them to shoot him. It became clear to the officers that this was a serious mental health situation, which the officers are trained to respond to due to their training in dealing with mental health, critical incidents and deescalation.

They told the man they did not want to hurt him and some of the officers holstered their firearms and transitioned to their Taser-brand electronic control devices.

Through the deescalation efforts, the officers were able to get the man to drop two of the knives on the ground. The man still held one large knife and raised it above his head in both hands and plunged it toward his stomach as if he was going to stab himself.

When the man raised the knife above his head again, Officer Doherty deployed his Taser, striking the man in his hip and shin. The Taser deployment caused the man to drop the knife and fall to the ground. At which point the officers quickly moved in to get the knife away from the man and safely detain him.

The narrative that was immediately painted versus the video is telling.

I don’t want to get into the semantics of what lead to the big fight. But it was cringeworthy seeing a fully grown man trying to stomp a teenage girl in the head instead of getting his daughter.

It seemed Makiah was about to stab the girl in the pink because the girl in the pink was in a full defensive position awaiting the impact and the cop saw red and started shooting to prevent a possible murder or attempted murder.

Now he could’ve used a taser, fired a warning shot but makiah looked like she was in full swinging position unfortunately.

I don’t think a grand jury will indict that cop because they will argue he saved that girl in the pink life.

Just and all around sad situation that was probably over some High school BS..
