They didn't come out to explain it, they are promoting a new project and it came up as a question because it became a big deal last time they were on a promo run
Drake using co writers or writers for his singing material is a non issue. Every big singer uses co writers or writers. It's the co written rap that is justified controversy.

He has other people writing his raps some of the time. Is that fair and balanced enough for you? Can we all admit to that?

I think he writes his raps and he's an elite song writer. If you dislike him you will ignore all the obvious information leaning towards that though. That's your business.
