To be fair Meek had been taking shots here and there since his first diss flopped. Summer Sixteen was the first time Drake has really even addressed dude.
So what was Back to Back?

Drake can only indirectly engage Meek because on Summer 16 we saw what that got him: more writers leaking info :dead:

Look at all that disgusting drake dikk sucking you do. You'll do and say anything to defend him. I didn't even past like the 3rd page of results just typing in your username and drake.

You have hundreds upon hundreds of posts of pure stanning.

You're embarrassing yourself.

First it was "proof that drake writes"

Now youve moved onto "hip hop is a sham and all your favorite rappers do this"

Just stop and admit you love aubrey graham.

I have hundreds of posts and you show me 10. :mjlol:

Why don't you first address you flip flopping on your defense of drake.

First you said it was proof that he writes and we're all wrong.

Now youve moved onto saying "it doesnt matter" and that everyone does it.

So if it doesnt matter then why were you caping and saying he did in fact write all his shyt?

Hmmmmmmmm. I wonder why.

Caught you in your bullshyt and theres nothing you can say to defend your standom.:banderas:

Thats two drake stans on the summerjam screen Ive put up. Who's next?

1. stop saying everyone uses writers cause that's not the case. we know guys like 50, Pac, and cube wrote their own shyt cause its based on personal accounts. we've seen Wayne and Jay come in the studio come up with concepts off the dome in the studio. Kendrick and 3k write their own shyt. pride in that.

2. from a musical standpoint there is nothing wrong with heavily relying on others if the product is good. A lot of the best popular/mainstream music was not the idea of the artist but rather a group of people including producers, writers, A&R's, and label heads. a good product is a good product.

3. hip-hop is different. the greats write their own shyt and take pride in doing so cause they respect hip-hop. hip-hop was grounded on expressing yourself with your words. which is why freestyling is so huge in the culture. which other genre does this at this level?

4. It was always takes a team to deliver great products, however, when an artist is barely accountable for that product and the artists' voice is the only tangible artistic presence, you lose respect from a hip-hop perspective. the product still might be great, but in rap, the artist loses some credibility, especially if you pride yourself on being one of the dopest rap artist in the game. As good as Kanye's music is, he's never been regarded as the best rapper in the game for this reason.

5. drake is getting away with his use of ghostwriters cause 1) new fans don't give a damn about the true identity of hip-hop/rap 2) the industry tends not to piss off/snitch on cash cows. that's what drake is.

6. I think Drake is a great artist. he has great artistic vision, however, from a rap perspective it would be blasphemous to put him on the same level as Kendrick or Cole. you may not care, but I care when a rapper's role on a song is reduced to vocals and the entire flow/cadence/hook, etc is from another artist. I value creativity. which is why Ive always given the edge to rappers that can also produce/play an instrument. its impressive. but a rapper simply being reduced to a vocalist? that's just not the type of thing I grew up on. I want to hear your thoughts, your lingo, your ideas, your perspective in general, etc.. the product still might be good, but my perception of the artist change. youre eliminated from being a goat level rapper imo. its lke finding out a dope boxer is using roids/ped's. even if you did fight a lot of clean fights, it just changes the perception.

7. rap is just 1 genre of many. most fans of other genres do not care about how authentic an artist is because the genre never emphasized that. so in theory, it is possible to be one of the best artist out but not a top-tier rap artist.

8. Drake's team of producer's initial reaction to the reference track rumors says it all. they were doing a lot of denying and backtracked because they knew of the perception with ghostwring and rap. they knew it as frowned upon. 40 was right when he said drake is more than rapper, however, it was also disingenuous cause we all know drake values his position in rap. rihanna and Bieber aren't his perceived comp...its dudes like Kendrick, cole, etc.

9. the ye/drake comparisons aren't valid. Ye is a producer and he executive produces all of his records. he may not make all of his beats or write all his hooks but the overall vision and sound of his records can be directly attributed to him. that's a lot more involvement than the trend of just taking someone's song and replacing the vocals. Kanye is an actual creator, his ego wouldn't allow anything else.

10. Drake has wrote for other artist and im sure has wrote a lot of his own material. it puzzles me why he has to resorts to stuff like the QM situation. its not like dude is talentless. its not like he needs to be spoon-fed hits? I think dude just became too comfortablee. unless it all was an illusion.

He used Quentin on a few tracks on a mixtape and gave him credit. :ld:

The reference tracks didn't really have an impact because they were for bull shyt songs anyway.

Now, if we find out that he received a lot of help for his "real" work, well....:francis:

If I find out, he didn't write "Fear" well...:mjcry:

But there's no proof that he didn't.:yeshrug:

Drake writes because he's written for other people. People don't care about what he doesn't write because he's more popular than ever. It's common practice in the industry because everyone from Rae Sremmurd to Travis Scott holds writing camps. Soooooooooooooooooooooo, what now?
