I agree. With the exception of this year's match, none of Undertaker's WrestleMania matches after 2015 have been worth it. Not only because they were low quality, but because there was no intrigue. Undertaker competing with no more streak makes him useless at this point. Especially since they were close to retiring his character three years ago and they still brought him back. :hhh:

He should have told Vince it wasn't going down like that and asked to go over. But I don't think he cared enough to keep the streak alive. :yeshrug:

Taker must be a pretty shytty wrestler if people can only get invested in his matches due to an undefeated streak.

Streaks in wrestling are made to be broken. Why the fukk wouldn't you cash in on that streak to get a big moment. And it was a damn time for him to drop the streak. It was beginning to get very tired at that point. That Brock win is one of thefew memorable WWE moments of the last decade.

This idea that Taker deserves to have a fake unbeaten streak because ya'll liked his goofy gimmick when you were kids is :mjlol:

I would agree with you if Undertaker retired after 2014, but he didn't. His matches have no point to them now. Like the Shane McMahon match at 32. Even if the match was shytty, there still would have been an interesting storyline there. Shane gains control of RAW and ends the streak if he wins, while Undertaker never competes at WrestleMania again. But without the streak, why should anyone care about the match? Even in the promos, Shane said that Undertaker's legacy died when the streak ended. So he has no legacy, no reason to compete anymore, but we're still supposed to take the match seriously like it means something? :scust:

The only reason that Brock/Undertaker match is memorable is because the streak ended. If Undertaker wins, nobody would even talk about it or want to rewatch it. In the short term, it worked because Brock finally became a legitimate character again. But in the long term, it left Undertaker without a sense of purpose. You notice after 2010, he started competing only at WrestleMania for the sake of defending the streak. After it was broken, why did he come back? His matches are shyt now because he can't go anymore, which means that there's no one who can carry him. So now, he's stuck in this weird place where he should retire but can't because he doesn't feel like it's his time yet even though it clearly is.

Vince didn't think about any of this when he decided to end the streak.

I agree he should've stopped wrestling after WM 30. He's been embarrassing himself on an annual basis.

That's a separate point. Just because Taker fukked his money up and has been forced to hobble out to the ring close to his 60s doesn't mean the streak shouldn't have been broken.

Other than the Roman match none of his other matches would've been enhanced with the streak on the line, and that match was a complete car crash and further solidifies the point that this broken down old man shouldn't be out there with unbeaten streaks. What would even be the value in taking Taker's streak now? He's out there with a hip replacement :dead:

The streak still being alive at least gives his matches some intrigue and incentive, especially since he's getting older and his skills keep declining. They could have had some long-term storytelling with that, like Undertaker can't keep up with the younger guys and it's starting to get to the point where people don't believe he can win at WrestleMania this year, but then he proves them wrong and just barely survives. Just something to make his matches have a point.

And I'm not saying the streak should have never been broken. If they wanted to, they could have done it at the end of his career, when it's clear that he can't wrestle at the same level as before. But Vince made a last-minute decision and now, Undertaker's out here having subpar matches that no one cares about.
