I was just watching that interaction between him and Rachel Menken last night oddly enough.

In that same scene where he drops the "you're born alone..." he also says "Oh you mean love? Big lightning bolt to the heart, where you can't eat and you can't work and you just run off and get married and make babies? The reason you haven't felt it, is because it doesn't exist. What you call 'love' was invented by guys like me to sell nylons"

The ether when he shows up at Rachel's funeral and it turns out she lived the life that Don was chasing forever :mjcry:

That's why I love Mad Men, there are so many callbacks. Every time I go back and watch the older episodes, I ALWAYS find something that is recurring, a constant :ohhh: trip

exactly. Mad men might be the most layered writing in tv history. It demands repeated watching.

And thats why its my 1a 1b goat shows with the wire.

A show like Breaking bad was great on first watch but it has no replay value at all. Once youve seen it once theres really nothing else to it.

he had that life with Betts tho.... Still wasn't enough

my n*gga drapes getting left alone to drink at the bar by himself continues to exemplify his emptiness

:sadcam:

and now he's losing his company, the one thing he's always had
