'gettysbury type speech', 'you want to me to get my barber in here?' Roger was great as usual…..
'This place feels like someone sad lives here', which we can see is true from t he opening shots of patio furniture sloppily arranged in front of the tv, and Don obviously drunk and alone, in a vacant penthouse. And then coming in with a beer to Rogers office….
Like Sepinwall mentioned, it's a little troubling that Joans new love interest was yelling at her within minutes of a civil conversation…good luck with that, but I don't give a fukk about her character arc anyway.
The way that dinner scene was shot was so 70's, sleazy and dimly lit, and Don acting like the ultimate sleaze bag, hitting on a 17 year old in front Sally and her friends…..
'Anyone that pays attention to either of you….you just ooze from everywhere' & 'You have no character….you're just handsome', Don got some not entirely true, but brutal lines this episode, I think Jim Cutler was the only one to hit him harder in recent episodes….Sallys one line analysis is great, and it ties the Betty/Don parallels together in such a simple and clear way….I forget they are so similar, whether at their worst or best. It's indefensible and unconscionable for Sally to contemplate sleeping with a fukking 18 year old boy, who she watched grow up, and is her daughters best friend. But, thats Betty, a selfish, egomaniac.
'It's up to you to be more then that'
