3D at a quality theater. George Miller filmed this specifically to be watched in 3d

Hate to break it but that article is old and due to the continued production problems finally opted to shoot in 2D and convert it to 3D in post-production to keep the costs lower. But it's still probably the best post-converted 3D ever, simply of the fact that Miller shot every scene keeping in mind that it would have to work in 3D.

Exactly . It was ingenious to have max play the role he did and the parallels between him and furiousa . He had gave up hope , she didn't . They played his reluctance so well in the beginning how he even shot the chick and was like :yeshrug: he was a presence the whole movie and to me you don't have to have a million lines to be the star , hardy was a force of nature and has a ton of charisma . Now he's established max for future stories in other places where he winds up helping others

Plus:

there's the role reversal before the final act when Furiosa finds out the Green Place is gone, loses all hope and plans to drift the wasteland aimlessly like Max did before, and Max becomes the one to turn her around and stop her from becoming him.

I really enjoyed this film. The makeup and costumes were on point in my opinion.
Way better than the first MAD MAX.

Did old girl really die tho. Dude said she was breathing before he cut the baby out.

Old grannies tho :russ:

just got back from it. best movie of the year? an instant classic? sorry I don't see it.

the movie held me and the action set pieces were really tense and exciting but the hype got lost on me. also felt like it was furiosa's movie and not max. in fact max didn't really even need to be in the movie. wasn't even his story. furiosa was the true protagonist.

amazing care went into the production though. wow.

all in all a decent, fun time at the movies but not sure if it's something I feel the need to reccomend. I dunno Ive never seen any of the mad max movies so maybe I'm not the target audence member. Wasn't the mindblowijg experience for me like it seems to be for a lot of ppl.

yeah i kinda felt depressed and dark after watching it. it was entertaining tho, i will say dat

I see a lot of criticisms about how Max is underdeveloped or it doesn't feel like his movie which is hilarious to me because he has a very clearly defined character arc:

but the movie would have functioned just the same without him. his role in the movie is that of a glorified bystander.

like someone said they could have easily combined his character with the war boy. probly would have made for a tighter film.

People who talking about Max appeared as a supporting role have: 1.) never watched ANY of the Mad Max movies, 2.) missed the overall point of the film.

Mad Max is a Road Warrior... which in others, he's lonely drifter. This is another story of his adventures where he comes into a conflict that had little to do with him directly, but in order for survival purposes have to make a reluctant decision on if he should help this person, or community, or group of people.

This is very much shown that Mad Mad and Furiosa are equals. In fact "Fury Road" is a play on Furiosa's name. It may center around HER story, but Max is the key for that entire story arc.

Why people acting like Mad Max never had Strong female roles? This movie definitely had elements of "Road Warrior" and "Thunderdome" just even more extreme.
