Eminem was great before "Encore". "Relapse" was good too, but the reason he can't take any criticism and acts the way he does is because so many people have said he's the GOAT or one of them.

Facts. When he first came out in the 90's, people weren't used to an aggressive white rapper, so he got overhyped. He seemed like something new. He was dope those first three years of his career but calling him the GOAT is pushing it. And also after those three he fell off so hard that he's definitely not in any kinda GOAT contender convo.

I bet Em respects MGK more after he dropped a proper diss. Stayed on topic, rode the beat, had some nice bars...
If Em is serious about thinking the new school of rappers just mumble a bunch of bullshyt, you'd think there some part of him that respects the response.

The Kim shyt seems out of bounds, but I doubt Em really gives a shyt about Kim's honor or whatever.

The em from mid 90s to early 00s would probably think that way ... but this eminem is probably locked up in his studio compulsively rewriting/replaying/rerecording the first couple bars on his response on some OCD tip

There is no way you really were cognitive in a culture based sense to say what you said about Eminem.

There were no fully culturally endorsed white emcees in rap then. Vanilla ice made the white rapper's draw completely defunct and a cultural abomination. Eminem was that skilled an emcee.
Eminem singlehandidly slammed into that doorway and broke it down.
It just so happened in the collateral damage of knocking down that culture based door and edict. It allowed the full assimilation of any white rapper.
being allowed to rap without culturally earning.
or being culturally a real part of hip hop culture.
After vanilla ice...
If there was no eminem
. No white rapper would have been allowed to rap ever again, privately or publically period.
