the current USB is already the standard. they should just make a newer version that is compatible with the existing ones. cuz EVERYONE has like 10 years worth of regular USB devices and no one wants to switch to a new format.

macbook will last you 5+ years and retain resale value...can't say that about any windows hardware, maybe surface book will change that but if you want windows you can always use bootcamp and install a windows partition on the macbook.

Macbook Pros are amazing. They last for years, I'm a senior in college now and know a bunch of nikkas that got Macs as a high school graduation present and they're still running just as fast to this day. They hold their resale value well too.
