technically he said "i would say something to them and call them a junky and let them know it's liquid heroin"

he surely didn't say, "i won't get that bread though"

so again... he gives it to you straight.. he's not a caseworker.. he'll say you fcking up, then proceed to get money... oh well nikka... YOU ARE NOT FAMILY AND FRIENDS... this is business.. y'all gotta stop asking these execs to be your daddy.

He ALSO SAID and I quote, AGAIN, "u can't be a rapper and have a cup in front of me".
He said that right at the 46:32 mark; right before the quote u quoted from him.
I was just pointing out how he said 1 thing and then said another.
He was acting like he was so concerned about artists when at the end of the day, he probably don't really give a damn as long as he still gets paid.
Lyor don't give a fukk about nothing else but his business.
Ain't nobody looking for nobody outside of their own dad, to be a dad to them, bruh.
I know and understand it's a business but to act like it ain't a grimy and shady business would be foolish.

He's the king of "divide & conquer" with Black artists. At Def Jam (which he & his backers basically took from Russell) he created the tension between Ruff Ryders,Rocafella & Murder Inc and split up Rocafella.

The bold is false and there were many components to Rocafellas split

His whole thing is never let an artist or label exec under him become a threat to the power structure. Complacent artists love him but those who know their worth peep his tactics and despise him.

Yet Jay-z and 90% of the artists that had deals with him have nothing bad to say about him :patrice:

Idk just a feeling I get.. Lyor has a bad name in the industry as being an evil Jew/culture vulture who rips off his labels/artists

Ive yet to hear that about Iovine.. from Suge to Dre to TDE, etc

Lyor is a classic slick talker/hustler.

Jimmy is not. Jimmy is blunt. He is not a schmoozer, so he comes off less slimey. But don't be fooled.

Iovine is no different than Lyor. He is another opportunist.

Suge always talks about how Jimmy Iovine had no problems with them when they were selling records but dropped them as soon as Pac died & Suge got locked. He talked about it on Death Row Chronicles on BET. Here's a clip about how Suge got his masters.

The ones who dont say anything are either ones content with no ownership or who received benefits from siding with them.

It's well documented that Lyor always wanted to seperate Jay from Dame &Biggs because those 2 were always seeking to stay as independent as possible.

Lyor is extremely slick at playing mind games to split people for his gain. He played them against each other and ran when the Feds came after Murder Inc. It was all good when the money was comin in but Jimmy & Lyor played them all against each other and laughed to the bank because it was all under Universal Records and blackballed Murder Inc.

Listen to these interviews

Lyor didnt want Irv to gain power and he actually put a pick on his wall with him hugging 50 Cent and giving the finger, which was Irv's signature at the time.

That bottom interview goes indepth on how grimey Lyor is with facts. That 00's era of Def Jam was the epitome of Record Industry Rule #4080.

"My job is to keep you at the lowest cost."

I forget alotta people weren't around to follow major lable execs in the 90s &00s to see their treachery. Read the top right of this Rocafella cover story in The Source from 2002.

When I read that after seeing Backstage, I knew Lyor had already gotten to Jay and the writing was on the wall. Dame has been consistent in his message from the jump and been proven right.

These YT execs are always gonna silence any Black that starts to preach too much Black independence & ownership and try their best to make them look "crazy." They called Muhammad Ali crazy back in the day but now we see he was right.

No he wasn’t. Listen again. He said you can’t have a cup in front of me.... BECAUSE I will tell you you’re a junkie

He didn’t say he’d get rid of the cup or make you throw it out or drop you from the label or remove you from a tour. He’s simply saying he’s gonna mention you’re fukking up, but also do his job and make money for the company.

So if you are a goddamn drug addict, you should not be looking at your boss, to be the one to have an intervention with you. He’s there to make money off you, period. The moment you can’t make any, you finished.

At no time am I saluting him for being this way. Cold world. Heartless.

But I’m also not going to blame him, when he tells you straight up, that’s exactly what you are to him. There should be zero confusion on y’all relationship. So I don’t want to hear crying about how he’s so bad, when you knowingly made a deal with the devil

It’s like that same shyt posted above. Same blaming Lyor for doing what Lyor is supposed to do. He’s with def jam. His job would be to steal jay z away. That’s literally his job. Of course he’s gonna float the offers out there to jay.

Like he said again... if they was as tight as dame THOUGHT they were, then he shouldn’t have been able to do it so easily. So was he supposed to say fukk my job, let jay z go to Epic, so Dame can believe in me?

Y’all gonna get hurt in this business world. “All business, never personal”. It’s cut throat out there. Get money or stay home

Y'all really hate Lyor? From the stories over the decades, he's as authentic as they come. He's a straight-shooter. It's not like he's Puffy.

Lyor is a scumbag of the utmost but gotta respect his grind dude been in this rap shyt from its inception... told you the first rap station in the country was k-day in LA..

Mofo said he was the mayor of alphabet city. :mjlol: Yeah lyor is a faggit that was confirmation
