I mean, thats obvious. Elementary isn't that type of show. It fits in that prime time block where the writing can be good but its not that deep. CSI, NCIS, The Mentalist....all those type of shows fit into that block. Now that doesn't mean that because of that fact that a show like Sherlock automatically >>>> a show like Elementary. So I'll watch it again and see. I just know that Sherlock had me turning it off about 20 minutes into the first episode.

Fair enough bruh, i guess the comparison is not that clear cut. Let me say for American network TV, Elementary is :ohlawd: but in terms of the character Sherlock and the nuances etc "Sherlock" has a better feel to it.

I'm not really comparing them though, I just mentioned it because they both have something to do with Sherlock Holmes. Saying Sherlock has a better feel is kinda saying that you are comparing the two when in my view they seem to be completely different shows. I also feel that Sherlock is by comparison gonna be touted as great and Elementary as crap simply by the very nature of the shows and regardless of quality. I don't subscribe to that train of thought and tend to think people get a little too high on themselves. In the end, its just TV, and both shows are works of fiction. Its not that major. At least not for me.

I was under the impression that Alice's cameo in series 2 was basically to give her space for her own spinoff.

That would be cool and all, but the character seems like it needs someone like Luther to play off of.

Can we combine this thread with the other two talking about a season 3 so we can just have one big "British Television: Luther Series" thread?

It can be the thread for on-going discussion on past seasons and for whenever season 3 drops.
