If Idris and them boys got 24 episodes worth of potential stories to tell (just an example)... then 4 seasons of 6 eps, 3 seasons of 8, 2 seasons of 12... that shyt don't matter because itll be the same content delivered at the end of the day. All that would change is how many eps we get to see before the next time gap. And whether we get to see all 24 eps (or whatever amount) at all is outta there hands, as it comes down to what the network requests of them based off of ratings and popularity. thats why i don't like this 4 ep shyt, not when we know they can put out 6 eps easy.

So that question you asked me? fukk that, its more like do I think they could make 12 more episodes as good as the first 10? Hell yea, and i wouldn't care if it were split up in 2 seasons or if it were all in one... just as long as they got the clearance to tell as many damn stories/eps as they want.

She was in season 2 with no story or purpose and it came off like so what.I might be in the minority but luther second season sucked.And season 3 will probably be the same..

Yea... i still liked season 2, the back story with the mom/daughter/mob was cool and the subplot with Ripley and the black girl was "ok"... but it was a departure from what i liked about season 1 in which there seemed to be a different murder plot/killer each episode.

Season 1 felt like an actual tv series with the pacing and different plot points each ep, whereas season 2 felt like a 4 hour movie.

and doing a quick wiki search, it seems that bbc originally wanted the 2nd season to just be a couple 2 hour episodes anyway, before they decided to just break it into 4 eps.

It also says season 3 will be the last but that they are going to use it as a seque to the Luther movie.

I mean, thats obvious. Elementary isn't that type of show. It fits in that prime time block where the writing can be good but its not that deep. CSI, NCIS, The Mentalist....all those type of shows fit into that block. Now that doesn't mean that because of that fact that a show like Sherlock automatically >>>> a show like Elementary. So I'll watch it again and see. I just know that Sherlock had me turning it off about 20 minutes into the first episode.
