Luther Season 4 thread

Why is there an hour of ads? Most "hour long" basic cable shows are 45-50 minutes long if you take out the ads. Even with 2 hours of "Luther" ads shouldn't be more than 10-20 minutes.

Luther eps are full 60 minute episodes with no ads in the U.K .

BBC America has has ads. When The Walking Dead had a "90 minute special" the runtime without ads was 64 minutes but the slot run time was 90. Now picture a 120 minute show. Different network but the point still stands.

Both episodes individually are each an hour long. There's no secret third episode.
