That's not the problem. It's the massive outrage and "suspicion" that a natural black woman with dark skin could possibly be considered attractive by a mainstream publication. Many here act as if Lupita is some kind of monstrous troglodyte that no one should find attractive because they don't share the sentiment. Even if you don't find her attractive, she has no discernibly "bad" features so why all the outrage?

What's interesting is, the only posts discussing skin color I've seen are the ones from people like you calling other people out about it. That is, I haven't seen anyone say "she's too dark", but I do seem to see a lot of these kinds of posts in response. Who are you directing this at? The fact that she's best known for playing a slave in a movie is why most of us have mixed feelings about this accomplishment. That's why I made the Gabby Sidibe mention earlier. And no, I'm not comparing their looks at all. I'm talking about the type of movie roles they played that led to their major media exposure.

Although I agree with her being beautiful, I question whiteys motives with this.

I think it's because the "love" she's getting seems a little fake. It's like they said "lets just use this one so they don't complain anymore". She's pretty, no one is disagreeing with that but it just seems forced.

The fact that she's only known for/receiving accolade for playing a slave is uncomfortable, but other than that, what's the problem (not a rhetorical question)? I don't think it's comparable to let's say Alek Wek or Precious receiving disproportionate attention.
