Lupita is a pretty woman.
I've simply read, seen, and experienced too much from those in control to be happy about, or even trust them when it comes anything like this.
We're all too happy to accept their crumbs before looking at the big picture.
When it comes to "them", I'd rather be a little paranoid, than completely ignorant and optimistic. There is too much evidence based on 500 years plus history that "they" don't view or treat as as humans. Sure, they may like us when we fit the image that they have in their minds of how we SHOULD act, but that doesn't mean they really respect, or accept us.
And even when we are treated like humans, we are never equal. We are either out of this world athletic, with natural skills we were "born" with. Or we're naturally prone to violence and naturally slower than other groups. MOST of the time we're simply accessories to their life story.
So when I see a woman who blew up because of the amazing job she did portraying a SLAVE, getting this type of praise----- I

The white media is telling black women in America is actually OK to not try to be like "us".
The white media is well aware the black woman hates herself. (the nappy hair to be exact)
I'm thinking their motive for picking her is not genuine, although I support their assertion.
