If anything CAC's like myself usually enjoy the preachy rap.

I`m liking what I hear, did one listen felt like the middle kinda lost some steam, but that's just one listen i`m not judging the album off that because Lupe's music grows and you it's more for the real "listening"

The three song stretch from Heart Donor to Battle Scars is really bad. It's like the album rewards you for getting through those three, he goes off lyrically over the next 4 songs to end the album.

CAC is indeed a reference to race but you're right about the frame of mind thing too. There's a lot of black people with Anglo-saxon brains. It's disgusting and embarrassing.
t
cac brains...LOL

and did this nikka just say gimmie some lil b over lupe? :heh:

not going to rank it just yet, dope but i hate that i'm more so stuck on certain songs, i've tried to listen front to back and i just find myself wanting to play the two or 3 joints that i really love, the rest is just kinda there, that could change but as of now it's a handfull of cuts that i just don't listen to, where that's not usually the case with most of his music besides gaysers

White community's response to this album has been relatively poor for obvious reasons. They get put on blast throughout several of the verses, and the other verses are focused on pro-black themes.

Had my white ass friend talking about "this one was a little too political for me bro"

And I'm like "No, you mean this one was a little too black for you." lol
:yeshrug:

I know some REALLY WHITE motherfukkers who like this album (non-hiphopheads). Lupe has always been political. I haven't heard any lines that had me like  or anything, and most of the time he is talking about America in general or the government.

You know what this album is missing, a song like streets on fire, or the cool, a dark third person storytelling song.

I think sometimes he gets to preachy.....I'm listening to the music then on the same track he starts explaining what the track is about....I'm like, WE UNDERSTAND, KEEP RAPPING ABOUT THE TOPIC ...example

Cold War...great track...starts off smooth and he's rapping fine. After the hook he starts saying

Now let me clarify the chorus/
And what my Cold War is/
Because the complexity is enormous/

As if we are too dumb to figure out the lyrics

kool im not the only one.

I hated that stretch....the Outro is Amazing though...shows that Lupe can still be dope even when he isnt trying to be Mike Dyson...

near perfect album

right there with the Cool and FL1.. maybe his best album

easily rap album of the year

Lasers is still a little to hated on, its mediocre but lets not act like there arent 5 very good songs on there

This 1 not gonna sell too well though... Lupe has a huge white audience from that gay ass skaterboy shhit and his embrace of rock/eurotrash music
Here he really pushes his white audience away with a lot of just general anti-white sentiment. Audonbon Ballroom/a lot of the political stuff/hood now

Battle Scars got to be a single that is a good pop/rap record... that should be a smash

Hip hop is terrible when it's actually trying to be "hip hop." Overly preachy, attempts to uplift black people, cringeworthy lines of "you're not a bytch my sistah!!" and "c'mon dont say nikka guuyyysss!!"

This was the same problem with the Nas album. In short, hip-hop and its concept, as you guys like to cling onto is fukking boring. My fingers fell asleep halfway through writing about this standard of hip hop ffs.

Give me some Lil B, Flocka, over this any day.
Probably the the most accurate post of the entire thread. I thought I was the only one that didn't fukk with this album and LIG.

But Nasir is constantly saying "bytch" and "nicca" though....

I seriously think that is overreacting............ But I think I can understand saying that for Lupe though(even though I like him)
