Focused on the hooks because they take away from the album. When I have to manually skip over some god awful hooks (Heart Donor, Battle Scars, Brave Heart), it's not a good thing.

Doesn't mean I don't like the album.

Why are you losers so obsessed with hooks? nikkas laterally ignore verse after verse of intelligent lyrics and only focus on lyrics. :damn:

For all your hook obsessed clown listen to Rick Ross.

Hooks makes songs entertaining. Otherwise it's just really lame slam poetry.

i never thought a rapper could fall so far from my graces after a weak album but it was possible with lupe. i aged 3-4 years bumping f and l, and the cool was a solid 8-9.

i was hesitant to fukk with this, but it opens and closes strong. his flow on point, some beats and hooks aside, this is a great almost 4 star album. it was probably the comeback album i was looking for. those last 4 tracks brehs, those last 4 tracks

"this that esco music....this that esco music" :wow:

As strong as Lupe is on this album, it's clearly his second weakest (or third best) album. The beats are lacking from start to finish, and some of the hooks are basura. I wouldn't dare put this up against either F&L or The Cool unless we talking about lyrically. I'm debating with myself to cop because the album I'm expecting from Lupe might never come, but I don't wanna reward this album for it's mediocrity.

Ive never been a lupe fan but i gotta admit, dude is gifted with wordplay and lyrics. He can really spit with the best of them if not better.

Having said that, i cannot get into his albums. Musically it just isnt there for me. Some of his songs hit the mark but most are just not the type of tracks i can bump on a reg. Too much singing for my taste and too many electronic sounding beats dont cut it for me. But the man can rhyme his ass off ..too bad i aint feelin his actual songs for the most part. I do hope he does well sales wise even tho a lot of his shyt doesnt sound as hip hop as id like.
