Two of the Greatest albums coming out of the new school / post 2000 era.

Both are very lyrical.

Both are experimental.

Both raise consciousness.

Both represent that REAL HIP HOP even us old true school heads can feel.

Which album do u have in your number #1 and #2 spots respectively?

Let's go!!!

I'm primarily referring to the real hip hop fans who know what real hip hop in all about.:francis:

Consider for a moment that Supreme Clientele came out in the year 2000 breh. That's an example of an album that was monumental & influential that "real" on any hip-hop fan for that matter would consider classic material. There is an objective consensus that goes along with classics imo. You can't just throw Tetsuo & Youth in there, especially when it's probably at best Lupe's 3rd best album. Furthermore, it's way too early to crown To Pimp a Butterfly in this fashion also.

Go ahead and appreciate the music that you love though breh. I don't take issue with that, but the "Real" hip-hop fan shyt is often a cop out for panned & obscure material.

True. All classics must have some type of impact and influence on the game.

Last Lupe album that really had impact and influenced a lot of new gen rappers was The Cool.

Tetsuo & Youth is great but doesn't meet the criteria for classic.
How is Lupe's album experimental ? I don't see it. Unless poppy production is experimental now ?
Those Dahi tracks have hella experimental elements.

Plus the production on T&Y is diverse as hell, all kinds of styles on it

This is way more difficult then its being made out to be. I just recently copped lupe and got the kendrick as soon as i heard.

Gonna go with kendrick off the strength of his whole project working together... but lupe got tracks where im just now getting the concept he was spitting.

Lowkey, i know hip hop do it, but putting these two against each other ain't fair yo either. Just be happy we got two damn near classics brehs
