I need to re-listen i think, I love Lu but don't think I gave this album Enough time to sink in
Aight I'll do that, Remember at the time people talking about how crazy the concept was but I never really listened to it enough at the time (don't remember why) to get it, what's the general gist of it?Listen from back to front. I don't care what anyone says about "riddle raps" or whatever, but this was one of the most interesting hip hop albums of the decade to me. Really layered and interesting ideas... Video games, reincarnation, civil rights, music industry, religion all intertwined. Wasn't really a fan before this but I can still put this shyt on and let it ride.

Just skimming these songs through the tracklist on apple and I'm remembering them and have no idea why I don't have this album, Mural, Tron, Madonna, adoration and Madonna are all amazing pieces.
Yeah I just had a quick read up, between this and the Cool lupe really is a genius whether people like him or not, you said you're not the biggest fan but if you haven't properly listened to The Cool i strongly recommend it, his best album imo and easily one of the best rap albums to me of the last 10 years.I am not really a lupe fan outside this album and a few songs so i don't about the whole supposedly epic story with michael young, streets, the game, etc. but just the imagery and metaphors that are weaved throughout the album is interesting enough for me. For example, Tron, last song on the album is about resurrecting over new. but if you reverse the tracklist, the last line of mural is about nirvana, which is buddhist escape from rebirth. full of stuff like that and I enjoyed the production. Chopper is also the posse cut i heard in a long time.
