Kendrick's album is really good but T&Y....Lupe just..........delivers :troll:

I give both an A+ and label them masterpieces, but T&Y is better . Obviously I'm biased, but to me T&Y has more spotless gems on it, and as a rap fan, I'm far more impressed with untouchable rapping and layered themes and concepts than I am with genre blending and an album long story line. From a skill stand point, what Lupe did was rap on a level no one else before him has ever reached. I also find the songs to be more fun to listen to from a hook and production stand point. TPAB is obviously more cohesive and its narrative direct, topical, and digestible. Though both are great rap albms, they're pretty different. Apples to oranges really, but if you're goign to compare, If T&Y is a 100, TPAB is a 98. There's small things I don't like about TPAB(some hooks, for example). There is no criticism I have of T&Y. Even Famlay's verse on Chopper isn't bad to me.

If I really had to take the BEST of THE BEST my list would look something like....

T&Y

1. Mural
2. Dots & Lines
3. Prisoner 1 2
4. Body of work
6.. Little Death
7. Madonna
8. Adoration of The Magi
9. TRON
10. Chopper

TPAB

1. Wesley's Theory
2. Instituonalized (I really hate the hook, but the rest of it is just too good)
3. These Walls
4. U
5. For Sale?
6. Momma
7. Mortal Man
8. Blacker the Berry
9. You Ain't gotta Lie
10. How Much a Dollar Cost?

And the rest of the songs are also great. I was just nitpicking when making these lists. If I was making a top 10 list including both albums, I'd say 6 or 7 would be from T&Y. And the songs that didn't make the cut I prefer from T&Y. For example, I like Blur My Hands and Deliver a lot more than King Kunta and "I".

I think it WAS one of those SLRs.

Some "hot" lyrically lyrical rappers dropped a song and folks on twitter was like ":troll::umad: dat nikka coming for the crown, Lu!"

Lu was like ":rudy::camby: whaat hold on a minute be right back."
The whole "Control" saga when Kendrick did that verse...

That's when the "Lupe is bitter/hates Kendrick" BS came about because on Twitter he was saying that nikkas were easily impressed.

And he was right :ehh: Control had it hype for a little while with the excitement and responses but the verse was average :manny:

I've never really heard anything like T&Y. The only album you can compare it to is The Cool as far as sound goes. The Cool is my favorite album from Lupe but there's a few skippable tracks on it. It's just that the high points of that album were sky high so that I didn't really mind the weak joints. T&Y is leaner despite the track lengths.

I cant understand why Atlantic wanted to highjack his music after he dropped 2 albums that sold very well. Lupe could obviously do numbers and still make the type of project he himself wanted to make. Blur My Hands is the music industry equivalent of dunking someone in basketball :mjlol:

It's weird because Kendrick and Lupe seem more similar in terms of being the good kid who grew up in violent hoods and you can tell a record with both of them would be powerful
I hear u...thing is I'm not sure about Kendrick but Lupe was really out there doin dirt...that might be the biggest difference between them 2...

I'm not the biggest Lupe fan, but I recognize his technical ability as a heavyweight and still think he can overdo it or come off as corny at times...so I wasn't even gonna check for this. Last joints I really checked for were The Cool, bytch Bad, and the SLR series...In my boredom & hearing stans talk about it after TPAB, I decided to check it out, and this is a pleasant surprise...Murals, :wow: I'm still on my first playthrough and just made it to Chopper :ohlawd: Prisoner 1 & 2 started off sounding lame but ended up bein ill as fukk...Now I can definitely see where the hype come from. Gonna give this a playthrough from the end to the beginning when I'm done :blessed:

This really is a dope year so far for music...

.it's scary because he claims to EFFORTLESSLY write like this.

I can't name whos whens specifics....

but remember last year when he was on twitter heavy, told some doubter that he writes like this when he wants to...

dropped a song like 5 hours later?

that shyt is legit scary to me. For real. I spend a lot of time thinking about other people's thought processes...

what the fukk makes a person's mind work like that!? :lupe:
Yeah that SLR shyt... #3 at the end he says he can just rhyme all day it aint shyt to him. The there was the track on EOTS where he says this rappin is his day to day and its like a week for other rappers (although real talk they could rap forever and never get there). He just has an innate ability to connect shyt and rhyme. Its really not even fair to compare dude to other rappers cuz while they concentrate on one aspect like flow maybe... he puts it ALL together. Then nikkaz try to treat him like these other rappers n pigeon hole him into a box.
