I still think this nikka ab soul got the worst verse on the album

It's no thought or doubt about it, it's hands down the worse verse. Drags the song down a bit really. Among my close friends that listened to the album, we all share this consensus of such. One of my homies either rewinds the song or skips the track after Lupe's 2nd verse. Tron is/was about my least liked track on the album and I mostly blame Ab-Soul. Lupe gets some of the blame I suppose for allowing it tho.

So, anybody else see this song as Lupe's final middle finger to Atlantic?

Here's my interpretation, ignoring many of the references and just getting down to his overall intent.

He's opening the song essentially taunting Atlantic who gave up on him, gave zero promotion for his music in return for his dissent, and references their intent to kill his career and relativity in the industry.

It's "Blockbuster with a TAPE". Which is why that nervous tic part you were inferring didn't make sense to you, ya silly bastid. Returning like blockbuster with a tape makes plenty of sense, to which I doubt/hope I need not explain to you.

Yo brehs, im still in awe of this album. Just to test how dope Lupe is on this album lyrically, i gave other artist like Drake and Joey Badass a few spins. The result had me feeling bad for these other artist lol. Lupe set the bar so high, the speed of sound won't allow my ears to listen to anything less at the moment!! Call me out for stanning if you want but other rappers need to step their bars up!

It's "tripping like field". It goes in tandem with the rest of the line. "Slipping like Permission, tripping like Field". Field Trip, require permission slips in school.

I can't go too hard on Soul though because for every dud feature he's got an album cut like Pineal Gland thats fire

Everyone but Lupe's verse. I think Lupe's superior lyrics on there along with the smooth flow just barely managed him to get away unscathed. He did body everyone else though and definitely has the most gut-punching lines in the song, several times over. That fierce delivery of conviction with it too is just soo pungent.
