page 2 already :stopitslime:

It had a good run. The fans rejoiced. The haters gnashed their teeth and spammed the topic and started other pitiful threads in an attempt to end the enjoyment of other people. K Rino and Nas were then for some reason discussed at length. Jay Z was eventually slandered. That's pretty much the life cycle of all the album threads on the coli. :manny:

Lmao

Body of Work imo is the hardest song on there to break down besides the general theme being about trafficking drugs through a girl's body.

I heard some one say on the first layer, he's talkin about trafficking drugs as you said but the second layer he's talking about Hip Hop (female body) in a sense how current mainstream rap is being destroyed by its focused approach on drugs ie molly, cocaine, heroin, etc.

He's getting at how hiphop has been used to smuggle in the negative messages of drug dealing/violence to the masses subconsciously.

Also, another artist that did some of the vocals on the album just dropped a video. She was on Deliver, and that Mazinger song he put out... I heard this song a while ago, but Lupe just posted this out so I caught the visual for it. She can sing too...

This video has me looking forward to some more of her music. I haven't looked myself, but does she have any projects out now?

I don't think so. She doesn't have anything linked or posted on her SoundCloud page besides this song and stuff she's featured in.

Madonna went from being my least liked song to one of my favorites now. been in my head all day
The hook is just infectious :ahh:"Madonna, donna, donna, donna, donna, donna, donna, donna, donna, na, na, na, na" :stylin:

I might be in the minority, but this has a chance of being better than The Cool in the long run and The Cool is one of my all-time favorite rap albums.

Madonna is probably the greatest Ye/MBDTF influenced song I've heard. Everything from the harmonizing auto tune to the synths to the production nuances. Lupe understands what to do w/ a sonic template influence and then bring something else to it. Nikki Jean might be missing the boat that she doesn't get "THE TEAM" to do her records. I heard her first record and the chemistry was not there that she had w/ this production. :mindblown:

A great voice. She sounded good over that "Mazinger" track production

I think people should know one thing who are being critical on this album, Lupe said this was his most well rounded album he has presented thus far. He didn't say "a classic" he was honest, "I can listen to it mostly satisfied and I would only change a few things about it" THAT is what he said.

And one last thing about this project why you should hand it to Lupe, coli fam.

This album was forced out by anonymous, Lupe wasn't finalized w/ it, he kept turning in drafts and Atlantic kept REJECTING it.

Now you tell me how many artists could be that determined to keep going even though your label…. AND let's get this STRAIGHT, the only reason Atlantic kept rejecting it is because they wanted to bring more input to this project to chip off more percentage of Lupe's revenues.

Now this is key, critics to Lu……….

HE.HAS.YET.TO.GIVE.YOU.A.FULL.PROJECT.THAT.HASNT.BEEN.INTERFERED WITH.

Wait until the next fully unchained Lupe sounds like. But don't give me that "I want Food & Liquor Lu" You are in the minority on this one, Tetsuo & Youth is a unsung favorite even if people still don't want to give him credit. I bet you he made Nas and Jay scared listening to it on headphones. I appreciate that you respect his work, but I think he is more critical of his work than you are, that's how I see it. And one last thing, no one gives a fukk how much it sold, Last Poets didn't sell that much & yet they are iconic trailblazing poet revolutionaries.
