Exactly if he's the sensei he should wipe the floor with/fight anyone. I'm glad someone unbiased pointed that out. Vishis is at least a name in the rap game and dropped a formidable enough track to warrant a response, hell it was better/ harder than that clichéd shyt Lu said about Royce .Honestly I don't even mean a top 3 perspective because I'm sure Lupe stans will flood the thread claiming he's #1.
I just mean....he ain't got the juice. None of these cats are even thinking about him. He talks as if these cats are his peers or something. Lyrics and bars are cool but you can't jump the line. He ain't even responded to Kid Vishis but he's trying to bait Kendrick fukking Lamar.
Fred.
It’s all a matter of taste and I’m aware I’m in the minority with this but …The Cool is wack Ok not ‘wack’ but there is something off-putting about a completely make believe album. It’s ….nerdy. So for me it’s a perfect snapshot of why Kendrick is the better artist. Lupe don’t really have anything personal to talk about. His personal story is non existence.
Now Food & Liqour can go toe to toe with TPAB and most albums all time, and that version of Lupe is an all timer….but where Kendrick continued to make dope realistic authentic music, Lupe went left into a rabbit hole of nerdom. My Cool Young History
See this why I fux with you. I actually agree with most of thisLupe's entire musical history is built on very little introspection, he pretty much never talks about himself or tells his own story.
The Cool is a great album as is Food & Liquor but many of these works NEVER talk about Wasalu proper, which is weird
because he's lauded as a "Story teller" but I'd argue there are several individuals whose story telling chops are as good
as Lupe's if not better.
And if I did, I wouldn't even start with Kendrick Lamar, instead I'd go with Nas, Common, Black Thought, Pharoahe Monch and Elzhi.
with that said Kendrick's semi-autobiographical works that sound like John Singleton film on Wax are on a different level IMO.
There's a real cinematic flair to his stuff, that adds layers to his music that IMO makes it very easy for him to tap dance
on Lupe's discography.
Especially the post- F&LII Lupe fiasco that tries to be "Progressive" but more often than not, just trips all over himself
by pretending to be deeper than he really is.
These battle rap nikkas be swearing they nicer than they really are. Lol. Only battle rap nikka who is REALLY like that outside of battle rap is Lux, Daylyt as well. I'm really starting to not be able to stand alotta them nikkas.
Fixed that for you my breh
It’s two different schools of thought conflicting. That’s what drives Lupe crazy. By his metrics, Kendrick is not a lyricist. It’s semantics imo but I get it to an extent. To someone who’s worked as hard as Lupe has to get to the pinnacle of wordsmithing, it’s probably very annoying. Like if Giannis fans were saying he’s a better scorer than KD. Like yeah he’s scoring 30 a game like KD but it’s different. But to say Kendrick isn’t dangerous is pure hate. Giannis will put 50-20-10 on your head. KDot a big stepper. Lupe gotta relax
No one hates nasKDot hate is about to rival Nas hate
