Kendrick is a pretty decent lyricist nothing special but pretty good.....

His voice does sound kinda "geeky" though....

Maybe saying he doesn't do metaphors is strong.. It's not his strength and when I do hear them they're nothing special..

Jay doesn't really use punchlines.. A punchline stands out.. Jays cleverness is in that his lines don't really standout in his verses.. They don't break the topic for the most part and you just catch them later..
Explain to me what you believe a metaphor is my bruh...

For a guy that isn’t exclusively or should I say primarily a punch line rapper like a Fab or a Banks or a Lil Wayne Jay probably has the largest wealth of known punchlines in the rap game

Bruh....

Who is quoting any of these bars from other artists....

The most famous lines in Hip Hop come from like 5 albums and 3 different artists...

Nobody is gonna drop a damn Andre 3K lyric...none of Andre3K lyrics became used in popular culture....

A bunch of Jay Z lyrics have...you can actually quote Jay Z across multiple albums...you can put Jay Z lyrics into a damn movie and somebody would know where that shyt came from. Show me another artist that is like that...

There ain't nobody else in Hip Hop that is like that...and I mean nobody...

This whole..."Well show me some dope Kendrick Lamar lyrics that are qoutable..." is a stupid argument. It's argument that really equates to..."I don't get what's a big deal about Kendrick Lamar..."

And that's okay...

If you don't enjoy musicality in Hip Hop, that's fine...because you are holding Kendrick Lamar to a standard that only Jay Z has reached...

Jay Z is the only artist that got actual quotable movie worthy lyrics...

A good punchline ain't a quotable...

A good metaphor ain't a quotable...

I am not a business man, I am a business, man is a quotable...

Men shouldn't be jealous, that's a female trait is a quotable...

What you eat don't make me shyt is a qoutable

shyt even Is it ochie wally or is it one mic became a qoutable on here...

Only Jay Z got several qoutables across multiple albums

Nobody is gonna drop a damn Andre 3K lyric in a conservation with you...

Kendrick Lamar's songs aren't meant to be a bunch of quotables...Kendrick Lamar is making concept albums and songs...

He's not just rapping about a subject...he's creating something that is supposed to be heard in it's entirety and relates to a story...

Kendrick Lamar on TPAB wasn't even central to the project, it was music around him that was central...

You and others just don't get the appeal of Kendrick Lamar...which is fine...

But trying to hold to some standard that only one artist has attained is ridiculous...

i agree with most of what you are saying, but Cube is highly quotable:comeon:

"So fukk Charlie Manson
I'll snatch him out of his truck
Hit em with a brick and I'm dancin"

"They try to keep me from running up
I never tell you to get down it's all about coming up
So what they do go and ban the AK?
My sh*t wasn't registered any f**king way"

"Hiphop started in the west ice cube bailing thru the east without a vest"

"callin me arnold when you Benedict.
eazy E saw ya ass and went in it quick"

If you were never considered the best RAPPER,you shouldnt be considered top tier.TOP tier rappers>>top tier lyricst is what Lupe ia basically admitting to .Very few super lyrical guys who could do both in terms of being super lyrical and quotable.Kendrick is in good company right along with Lupe who apparently thinks anybody outside of his stans quote his bars:mjlol:

This is pure arrogance from Lupe as usual. Only Lupe quotable most people know what be "kick push, kick push" so for him or his fans to try to downplay Kendrick at all in this stance is laughable.

Kendrick doesn’t drop bars he creates songs.....everything is very well calculated and :ohhh: when you sit back and think about it...flow, delivery, rhyme scheme content, the only thing you might knock him for is voice and that isn’t his fault :yeshrug:

No. Just because you've used punchlines before does not make you a punchline rapper. That's not what he's mainly known for. Punchline rappers are rappers who prominently showcase punchlines in most of their raps.

I think people confuse wittiness and slicktalk with a rapper being in the punchline category.Like I dont actually consider Jadakiss a punchline rapper but see people put him in that category alot.Fabolous is a punchline rapper,he has slick and witty bars as setups with the intent to hit you with a punchline. Jay doesnt do set ups for a punchline which is why he doesnt fall into that category for me.

Fabolous has become less of a stereotypical punchline rapper, and more subtle. But its still what he is most known for,and why hes checked for.

Bro, just because someone is capable of doing something doesn't make them known for that particular thing. I'm capable of painting a house well but I'm not known as a painter. Jordan could shoot 3s but he was not known as a 3 point shooter.
Idgaf about “known for” doggie I’m talking about what a person is and isn’t proficient at .... I could give a fukk less about “reputation” I’m purely talking about reality .... and the reality is Jay has always been a puncher AS WELL AS many other things ...shyt ain’t that hard to comprehend

Jordan wasn’t a proficient or prolific 3 point shooter he was actually quite mediocre if you look at his career numbers in comparison to guys like Reggie Miller ...Jordan never was anywhere near the top of the game at that particular skill during his time ...could he make a 3 here and there? Sure.. just like any random rapper can drop a punch randomly but can he do that consistently season after season at a high clip like Jay could drop punches album after album? NO ...so that point is null

Jay-Z most certainly has always been one of the best punchline deliverers in the game without question ...you can go thru his catalogue and fact check if need be

Breh, I don't even wanna get in a back and forth with you on this. Jay has NEVER been considered a punchline rapper and I don't know why you believe he's consistently has done it throughout his career. He's done it but not enough to be called a punchline rapper. And sometimes when he has done it he's done it horribly (ie: killing the "roof" like Michael Vick).
