Bruh....

Who is quoting any of these bars from other artists....

The most famous lines in Hip Hop come from like 5 albums and 3 different artists...

Nobody is gonna drop a damn Andre 3K lyric...none of Andre3K lyrics became used in popular culture....

A bunch of Jay Z lyrics have...you can actually quote Jay Z across multiple albums...you can put Jay Z lyrics into a damn movie and somebody would know where that shyt came from. Show me another artist that is like that...

There ain't nobody else in Hip Hop that is like that...and I mean nobody...

This whole..."Well show me some dope Kendrick Lamar lyrics that are qoutable..." is a stupid argument. It's argument that really equates to..."I don't get what's a big deal about Kendrick Lamar..."

And that's okay...

If you don't enjoy musicality in Hip Hop, that's fine...because you are holding Kendrick Lamar to a standard that only Jay Z has reached...

Jay Z is the only artist that got actual quotable movie worthy lyrics...

A good punchline ain't a quotable...

A good metaphor ain't a quotable...

I am not a business man, I am a business, man is a quotable...

Men shouldn't be jealous, that's a female trait is a quotable...

What you eat don't make me shyt is a qoutable

shyt even Is it ochie wally or is it one mic became a qoutable on here...

Only Jay Z got several qoutables across multiple albums

Nobody is gonna drop a damn Andre 3K lyric in a conservation with you...

Kendrick Lamar's songs aren't meant to be a bunch of quotables...Kendrick Lamar is making concept albums and songs...

He's not just rapping about a subject...he's creating something that is supposed to be heard in it's entirety and relates to a story...

Kendrick Lamar on TPAB wasn't even central to the project, it was music around him that was central...

You and others just don't get the appeal of Kendrick Lamar...which is fine...

But trying to hold to some standard that only one artist has attained is ridiculous...
translaton = the whole time i've been typing back and forth with you and googling some shyt kendrick has said, nothing is worthy of me quoting on this site..

I'm gonna leave you alone man. Have a good night

fukk outta here. Punchlines is one of the last aspects of rap music a rapper has to be astute at to be great. Get ALLLLLLLLLLL the way the fukk outta here.
You don't have to be a punchline rapper to be great

but you gotta have em. it's a part of wordplay and without it bragging in rhymes just becomes monotonous

No it's not...

This era of Hip Hop is probably the most diverse...you can just enjoy just one segment of Hip Hop and never even pay attention to the mainstream...

2000s was easily the shyttiest era of Hip Hop, the beats sounded like shyt, rapping was shytty, everything was centralized in fukking New York, everybody was trying to be a super thug....

It was trash...

Then Kanye West came...and ushered in a new era...and musicality came back and then innovation within the genre came back...and Hip Hop became decentralized...
kanye came out in 2004 with his first album. hot albums dropped constantly from 2000-2003 before Kanye ever had a release.

Blueprint 2001
Stillmatic 2001
Quality 2002
Marshal Mathers LP 2000
The listening 2003
Lord Willing 2002
The future is now 2002

chronic 2001 came out the end of 99. The worst part about the early 2000s was when crunk music, reggaetone, and snap music came on the scene. That shyt was trash, but it left as fast as it came. Thsi trash shyt has been here for a while and it's not going anywhere any time soon. I'm not from NY. I'm from the south and I listen to music from all coasts. I listen to stuff you don't even know existed. As for that "new era" Kanye ushered in, Little Brother was doing it in 2002 before him. That type of music. Their album was released in Germany in december of 2002(where I bought it) but officially in the states early 2003. I'll say it once again, to talk hip hop, you 've got to know it and a lot of music knowldge from people on this site started arond 2004. When I hear dudes talk about, "I grew up on Jay Z and Nas" I know they're young. I was 19 when Jay dropped his first album. I don't look at myself as an old guy. I don't down the youth like so many others. I talk with them and reason with them to show them that nothing they're seeing is really new cuz older people did it with me when I was young. Like when a dude in college said Kendrick is top 5 greatest all time cuz he's the current most popular rapper in a bs era, I had to explain to him that once upon a time, Special Ed , along with Kane, were the 2 hottest dudes in Brooklyn. Special Ed took a break after releasing 2 hot albums, came back in 95 with a bs album and a curly afro and we didn't hear from him again until Snoop put him and Prodigy on a song together on the Doggy all stars. Greatness comes with time. I never in my life of listening to music saw albums get called classics the first day they dropped. wtf is that about? haha

No you don't have to have them. Pac, Nas, Cube, Ghost, Prodigy and a litany of the greatest rappers of all time rarely used punchlines.

I hate that Kendrick don’t got quotable BS cause I hear nikkas quote him often

But Lupe ain’t in the mainstream rn so the average rap fan probably won’t be able to quote him, just like any other rapper like him
