Talks about the 15th anniversary of The Cool and a little bit about the new album

The cool is still my favorite Lupe album. My roommate in college had to convince me to buy this album. I had no interest in buying it AT ALL. After a while bought it and played it all the time till even he was tired of this shyt. Listened to it going to work, class, doing homework, etc. The album that turned me into a Lupe fan ever since. One of my favorite rappers of all time

“But my next album is gonna sound like it’s drill music in zion
Music that you can feel like Phil Collins and violence
Videos filled with hoes/holes with real popular diamonds”

:wow:
I don’t understand how that works as wordplay if they’re not homophones and only work as slant rhymes.

The phrase “drill music in Zion” has 3 different meanings here.

1. His album
2. “Drill music” in Zion (holy land)
3. In the matrix they were using a large drill while in the city called Zion (he later played on this in the verse before and after this bar)

Music that you can feel (“it coming in the air tonight”) like Phil Collins

The enunciation of hoes/holes is a homophone.

Layers!!!
