That isn't what Lil B's all about at all. A lot of dudes have that one gear all the time, but he at least tries to go in on some other topics sometimes. He just doesn't do it good enough for some people. There is literally none of that on I'm Gay:yeshrug:

Okay I see..

Full disclosure I've never listened to one of his albums, I only know of him through the top youtube clips..

Outside of Kendrick who lupe loves who new out there worth listening to?

I feel all y'all who said this new rap aint really inspiring you, but to me it doesn't have to be super lyrical for me to like it. In the past like 3 weeks i've been bumping the new troy ave mix tape, big twin mix tape, nas album, and that new lloyd banks mix tape. If you don't like any of those 4 new drops then chances are this hip hop shyt just aint for you lol.

I think mainstream wise theres a lack of creativity and content outside of a few. (Nas) But I would say lyricism is coming back and non cookie cutter shyt is coming back to the mainstream.

Last year Jay and Ye came out with (nikkas and Paris and Otis) for singles. These are not cookie cutter bullshyt commercial tracks these are bangers.

I fell like artist like Drake don't get enough credit lyrically. He bodied the hip hop tracks on his album and has improved greatly lyrically since SFG. Tracks like (Over My Dead Body, Free Spirit, The Ride, Underground Kingz, HYFR, Lord Knows, Dreams Money Can Buy, Im On One)

I said "new" rap their isn't anything new about nas or banks, and i never heard neither of those mix-tapes so i cant comment. Guess hip hop isn't for me

Thats a pretty narrow selection... youre basically saying if u dont like what NY is putting out you should quit hip hop.

And to keep it funky NY's been in a creative rut for a good decade now. Even Banks tape, which I like, is repetitive + a little stale in the content and even the beats. U can sum the decade + worth of Banks lyrics up in like 2 sentences... "Hood life is hard + made and keeps me tough; I'm better than you; I fukk your girl with alarming regularity and ease". shyt gets boring

Na thats not what I'm saying at all stop it with that NY hate shyt. Those are just 4 tapes/albums that came out recently, I'm more then open to all regions and I like artists from cali, atlanta, all over the place so don't try to put me some sort of category. I'm talking bout y'all who are saying we don't even listen to hiphop then try to judge the lyricism thats out right now.

All 4 artist you named are barely even mainstream, and NaS is mainstream because of his prestige hiphop is at a sad place right now

I didn't say nothing bout mainstream though? I'm talking about hip hop in general. Listen yo, all I'm saying is it's wack to make generalizations about hip hop then turn around and say you don't even listen to it. I'm not talking about you or no one on this board, I'm talking about lupe in this interview.
