Honestly, I don't read the comics, but I stopped watching the Netflix show because within the first two episodes they portrayed the black people against gentrification as bullies who have nefarious motives, and had Luke Cage protecting the hardworking non-blacks from their reign of terror on the neighborhood. It just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Never been much of a Cage fan but I did enjoy a recent read of the 70s Hero for Hire and Power Man and Iron Fist runs

Pretty sure half of those examples are down to White writers giving him cringe worthy dialogue. I was reading Black Panther from the 98-03 series - same issue there.
