DeAndre long-term would be over $30mil a year on the 3rd 4th and 5th years. He'd fukk around and ask for a 6th year player option and we'd probably give it to him.

Be thankful we only got him for a year, brehs.

He looks good and playing very well, but I love our cap flexibility right now. Wes and DeAndre coming off, Barnes in one more year. Luka and DSJ going. We're sitting pretty without any egregious commitments to aging or one dimensional players.

Now whether we capitalize on that cap space remains to be seen :francis:

But we also never had a cornerstone that other players want to play with. Luka now provides that.

i wish we signed deandre longterm.

Real talk, based on what I've seen this year from him so far, he looks like a better player than even Tyson Chandler was on that 2011 Mavs title team.

Nah, I'm not sold on DeAndre.

Our system makes him look better than he is.

Don't discount what Rick, JJ Barea, and Doncic do for DeAndre.

The 2 man game we run and spacing our players provide and double and triple screen sets we run do wonders for him. Rick squeezes every drop of utility out of DeAndre.

I'd rather lock up Powell long-term than DeAndre. DeAndre contract would be an albatross 2 years in and we all know that.

:yeshrug: Tyson Chandler played in this same system & DeAndre Jordan looks even better than Chandler did in that 2011 Championship season, can you atleast acknowledge that? DAJ done lived up to the hype that the Mavs front office have been hyping up for years.

Gotta give props, this bytch Harrison Barnes been doing the damn thing. Pretty much all season.

I like hating on the dude but he's been crushing it from 3. His 2pt FG% is one of the lowest it's been in his career, for some odd reason.

And about DeAndre, he's surpassed my expectations. He's played well. Very well. At the same time, I'm not really trying to pay him $25-30mil a year for the next several seasons. That's all I'm saying.

A lot of my disdain for Matthews, Barnes, and Jordan has mostly to do with their cap hits. I don't think those guys should be commanding that type of dollar amount on teams that are actual contenders.

It's all good for this year, though.

We ballin :wow:
