Y'all FSU fans kill me. We have played in two championship games since FSU's last appearance. Florida State has been trash since 2000, but you have the nerve to claim you are superior to Miami. Now imagine if we start winning 8 games a year, then maybe 9 or 10? Recruits from South Florida will start coming back home in bunches and not going to those other schools.

What you probably don't realize is if you go back to our early 2000 teams, mentioned among the greatest college teams of all time, is the fact that most of those guys were 3-4 star recruits. Only a few were 5 star recruits. Ed Reed was a 2 star recruit.
The thing about those teams is that they were all local Miami kids mixed in with a few out of staters (Reed and Reggie Wayne from Louisiana) and Dorsey (from California) and Shockey from Oklahoma.
The thing I really like about Golden's recruiting is he's going after all the local Miami kids again, something we haven't seen since Butch. Coker and Shannon just kinda assumed that a lot of local Miami kids would play at the U no matter what, and they ended up leaving (see Patrick Peterson).
Who cares? There's no honor in college football. They just recently started letting black players play

damn near every school does what Miami did to some extent, but that's not the reason they won't be shyt for the foreseeable future
their facilities are terrible
their stadium isn't even in Miami and is not close to campus; not to mention it's usually half empty
they are a small private school, so they just don't generate the same funds that a bigger program does, especially with a tiny alumni base
recruiting is not nearly as localized as it used to be, high school kids these days weren't around to see the "U" at their best, they could give 2 fukks about that tradition... the days of Miami keeping all that local talent is a thing of the past, other quality programs are coming down here and poaching good players at will
their whole program is a mess, from the top down. that bootleg Al Bundy knockoff is gonna get fired after a few more mediocre seasons and then they'll be back at square one... this year's Canes team is the worst squad they will field in more than a decade, they'll be lucky to win 7 games... and they still got NCAA sanctions on the way

FSU is the one that claims preseason/recruiting titles every year and dont do shyt, most fans acknowledge there was a stark contrast in talent since 06 and have adjusted expectations
