If you're a player looking for the craziest nightlife and stuff like that, then yeah, Sacramento is NOT for you.

However, if you just want to raise a family and be in a solid basketball environment, then Sacramento is it.

Also, Sacramento isn't far from the Bay Area. Sacramento is close to Napa Valley (if you like wine and scenery), close to Lake Tahoe and Soda Springs Mountain Resort (if you like nature and skiing in the Winter) and if you want nightlife and clubs, then LA and Vegas are short flights on a plane.
