That's actually happened to a lot of people. I saw this thing where they showed the difference in action figures and comic book characters from the past 60 years or so, and every decade they just get more and more ripped.

Superman wasn't fully powered while growing up. So working on the farm added muscle to him until his powers matured. And the sun is like steroids for him. Batman was never swole until the 90's. The best looking Batman was drawn by Neil Adam. The Flash used to be drawn way leaner since he was a runner but they got away from that for a bit.
