Lord of The Rings Trilogy worth Watching?

Fell asleep watching the first one when it came out on dvd that I rented from blockbuster.

Never got to finished it over the years.

Finally watched all 3 earlier this year. Overall I thought it was overrated.
The main characters just seem like a bunch of lameasses. Smeagle was the only interesting character I remember. The castle fight was dope. The main villian lack any depth. Just bad guy who wants to rule world.

I recently tried to rewatch the trilogy since first seeing them in theaters. Got the through the 1st, gave up somewhere during the 2nd, and don't think I'm gonna bother with the 3rd

Read the books and loved them, liked the movies except for the third, which I thought had issues with structure and pacing. But upon rewatching them a couple of years ago, the cgi aged horribly and they didn't manage to keep my attention.
