Social media gives all sorts of stupid like this a lane.
Society had a name for people like this: village idiots. Back then, we heard their nonsense and disregarded it. But now, social media has not only given these idiots a voice, but granted them a platform, resulting in a congregation of smooth brains. They'll get their "research" from questionable sources with zero evidence to support said sources, act super condescending for absolutely no valid reason at all, and are completely unwilling to entertain the fact that they could be wrong.

There's not a single good reason to lie about the Earth being round. No evidence of any "ice wall", no videos or pictures of a firmament... Nothing. Because it's not real.

Which is even wilder because Africans were the first to theorize a spherical earth.

:mjlol:
Any links on that?

The idea of a spherical earth came from Pythagoras, and then followed by Aristotle.
Most of Ancient Africa had a geocentric worldview, as well as ancient greeks and romans.

It was Aristarchus of Samos from Greece is who is mainly known of pushing the heliocentric model, that celestial bodies move around the sun not the earth.

Are you one of those skeptical cacs who question things originating from Africa?

You had the Dogon tribe of Mali who tracked the Sirus star that telescopes only 30 years ago found

1977Obs....97...26P Page 26

Theyve long known the earth was a sphere. Even the bible cites the circle of the earth

Dude i'm not going to blindly say that it came from africa because someone on TLR gonna think i'm saying that just because it's africa.

yes the Dogon tribe of mali were remarkable in their astronomical knowledge and a fascinating culture.
They had not really go into the topic of a spherical earth tho.

Also the bible does not say the earth is a sphere either.
Circle of the earth does not mean a sphere, it could be implying a disc-shape flat round earth.
We don't know, it's funny people say that about the bible but when the bible says "four corners of the earth' these same people don't suggest that the bible is saying the earth is a square.

The first point to understand regarding the “circle” is that the word (Hebrew root chug) does not mean “sphere” but rather refers to a circle or sometimes a dome. A circle is flat like a disc or a dinner plate. Those who hold to the “scientific secrets” approach often think “sphere” when they hear “circle.” In the Old Testament, the word is used once as a verb in Job 26:10: “He has inscribed a circle on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness” (ESV). If one looks at the earth from space, there is indeed a circular boundary between light and darkness. However, the NIV captures more of the original intent and avoids the use of the word circle altogether: “He marks out the horizon on the face of the waters for a boundary between light and darkness.” If one is looking out at the sea, the horizon does appear to be circular.

Looking at the bible for scientific accuracies is your first mistake!

Your last sentence...if the bible is useless for scientific accuracy (which i agree)...what is it good for?

I used the Bible to state that prior to the Greeks, the “circle of the Earth” was well known. It was referenced. That’s the point .

And you must be some kind of stupid if you think a group of people who were able to track stars that it took the Hubble telescope to find didn’t know that the Earth was round. It’s obvious that you don’t believe shyt came out of Africa.

Exactly. It was the white world that was behind and thought it was flat. Yet people in here fighting tooth and nail for that crazy bullshyt. We also were the first to understand the cosmos (space/ the stars) yet nikkas talking about space is fake or we live in a dome :dead:

The Greeks stole all of that from Africa. The theory of spherical earth predates this . They were the first on record to understand and build pyramids based upon the cosmos and the Cardinal points of the earth. They used mathematics to understand the earths circumference..North south east west. They initially believed it was flat like everyone else. Greeks stole that and went from there. They even used terms such as the “circle of the earth”

Either way .. the earth is round!!!! Lol

Like Greeks in Egypt learning something deep from their teachers.
