In the 80s and probably 90s the typical man's view of family and social issues would probably be considered super far right today. Some people's views never changed though. This is the conundrum the Dems find themselves in.

I don't know why this is so hard for people on the left to understand. They're completely out of touch with the majority of the Electorate. As long as rich elites in NY and California run the Democrat party. They'll continue to lose rural, working class, Black and Latino voters.
