DC could more than afford it too..That part of the city been starving for redevelopment..There is obviously gonna be some bad but the good should more than make up for it if planned right..Plus it would do wonders for the morale of the city, fanbase etc.

DC is buying Cap One Arena for $88M

They’re going to put $500M to renovate it. Leonsis is putting $300M or so

Plus DC owns Nats Park and they have to put $25M into renovations. The city and taxpayers paid for the ball park.

So where is DC going to come up with $500M to a $1B of tax payer money??? Phil Mendelson has repeatedly said DC has no money for a football stadium
