Norfeast groovin…
From Mike Downey of the L.A. Times, circa ‘91:

Magic Johnson would have returned to Michigan State rather than play for the Chicago Bulls.

“I’d have stayed in school,” he said here Tuesday, standing alone outside Gate 3 1/2 of Chicago Stadium, the house that could have been his. “A coin toss changed the course of my whole life.”

Chicago called heads in a 1979 coin flip with Los Angeles for the No. 1 pick in the NBA college draft. It came up tails.

Johnson signed with the Lakers after his sophomore year of college and proceeded to win five championships. The Bulls picked second, took UCLA’s David Greenwood and have won no championships.

“I wouldn’t have played here,” Johnson said on the eve of Game 2 of the NBA finals between his team and the team that could have been his. “The only reason I came out was to play with Kareem and the Lakers.

- 3 ) he's a manning

- 4 ) G-Men or the san diego super chokers? :rudy:

Exactly one the organization helped cause the chargers were seen as inept and he was criticized at first but it paid off early fit the chargers so people laughed at the giants kind of for getting a inferior manning and qb compared to rivers. Not to mention folk and those players San Diego got it almost didn't happen cause they wanted osi too I believe :aicmon:
the other thing is once he won and the chargers never won one then let brees go, and kept a incompetent coach it kind of validated his reasons for not going . Now the story is how great a steal it was for accorsi.
Even with all that not till this year after his run last year was he finally placed way above rivers.

Lol at someone saying Eli had a stacked team :beli: revisionist history at its finest . The giants were never favored and barely made the playoffs both times we won , while the chargers were racking up 12 win seasons and being preseason pick like the eagles are now . Our front office just shyts on a lot of teams I mean look how many of our first rounders work out not to mention finding guys like Cruz , Bradshaw , snee, osi etc and our veteran pickups work too . Plus the giants were ahead of the curve in stockpiling multiple pass rushers .

he caught a lot of shyt, you must be young as fukk :dead:

Surprised it took this long for someone to say this. Eli was roasted by the media for the move and when he struggled his first few years while Rivers and Roethlisberger excelled the media would routinely say slick shyt like "I bet Eli likes NY now" and how the Giants picked the wrong QB. They called him spoiled and entitled and questioned his leadership his whole rookie year. The media reveled in his initial struggles.

By Eli what third full season he won a Super Bowl ? I mean does the op still want threads about it?? In those first few years there were many articles about it but come on 2 sb MVPs later :salute: he wants the media to still kill him ? And Phillip rivers is a jerk who would of been killed in NYC by the medal

Exactly I didnt notice the post you quoted but in the beginning they blasted him every time he struggled even the Super Bowl year up until the Super Bowl hell even until last year . But in 2012 after becoming to Eli we see today he wants to see more articles about a guy making a right choice ?
Where are the Elway articles then? If he didn't succeed Eli would still be routinely criticized

I live in the United States
This dude refused to play for the team that drafted him, made a mockery of the draft and was basically like "nah Ima pick my team"

imagine if cam had done that :mjpls:

yet with Eli this shyt was swept under the rug real quick

idk just remembered this and how weird it is. Like I still don't know why dude was so against playing in SD (I know I'd rather live in san diego than nyc/jersey)

Its pretty easy, basically anybody can do this. You just gotta have the ballz
If you tell a team you won't play for them, they gonna pass on you
Especially if you say you'll sit out. Nobody would waste a pick on a guy like that
Now if you was good enough that other teams would still want you?
The team that was gonna draft you will entertain offers and push you to the highest bidder
But Eli said nah, Only NY bruh. He probably made some deal with NY beforehand. Boss moves
But this only applies to top 10 talent. A lesser talent would then be deemed a risk for attitude reasons.
And it would be accurate because if you not a top 10 talent, just be lucky in that same league getting that NBA $$$

Hobe's bytch ass did the same thing to get to L.A.

fukk the Chargers.

His father got his ass kicked his whole career and he wasn't about to let his son play for that a$$hole A.J. Smith who is a prick and treats players like crap.

More QBs should start pullin this shyt..

In football you land with a garbage franchise your fukked...
