Everybody in this thread talking about how Bobby is a c00n, shut the fukk up.

This shyt has been and will continue to happen in the industry, it's just that we happen to have some footage right now.

You don't think your fav rapper had to do something similar to this ? shyt some of your favs probably did wayyyyyy worse (Nas fans)

Dude is a young kid from the streets who made a video and unexpectedly and by a major stroke of luck, blew up. Bobby Shmurda has never seen so much cash around him in his life how can you blame the dude. Be fukking empathetic and look at it from his POV. A couple months ago this dude was dirt fukking poor on the fukking corner.

This dude went from absolutely nothing, from taking beats off youtube and rapping to performing on Jimmy Fallon.

What I'm saying is, stop hating on a young dude getting his bread up. Alot of you fakkits wouldn't last a day in the life

Yes, we're hating on him breh, you exposed us :rudy:

weird as it may be, this is what happens for most artists before you sign them big deals right?

anyone listen to Speak(rapper from LA, wrote or cowrote kreayshawns one hit)?

he talked about it some in random songs and interviews.

he went out to NYC to do that kinda shyt and he hated it and flipped out cuz he didnt see the point of having to perform for a buncha executives who arent connected to the culture. which is why hes pushing his shyt indie currently. didnt wanna do the dance i guess.

yelawolf rapped about it in a track too on his last mixtape/album.
Yea all the fake outrage is kind of over the top. All of these artist do it but not to Bobby Smurda's degree of jumping on tables and doing a chicken dance. I remember when Jay had that MTV Diary back when Roc La Familia dropped in 2000 and there was a scene where he had to go into a meeting with the executives of Target and pretty much play the album for them so they could distribute it nationwide, pretty much sell the album which I have no problem with. Of course he isnt perform and dancing but look at the room. Its full middle aged white people bobbin their heads off beat.

i mean yeah dancing on the table might be extreme, but he's trying to sell himself and his image for a 6 or 7 figure deal. hes performing for them the way he would at a show, right?

does anyone think him standing there rapping alone would have been better than actually performing?

No, because he has no lyrics. This is what happens when you can't actually rap, but you're a rapper. You need people to focus on everything except your rapping.

It doesn't help that the room seemed completely disinterested in him....if you cropped the video to just show the rest of the room you'd have no idea there was even a performance going on. You'd think someone was doing a Power Points presentation on stock prices or some shyt.

yeah youre right, he doing extra cuz he got no bars, we all know that. but if hundreds of thousands or millions are on the table. you better perform your heart out, regardless of how many bars you got.

this is just an easy target for the coli brehs, as we can see with 37 pages of :pacspit:

Same forum that says he's foolish to put out singles ("Bobby bytch") without a video because his visual performance is what makes his music hot, not his bars, are upset when he's not spitting a "hot Bobby Shmurda 16" to to the execs.

A standing mic, a lone spotlight, and acapella bars from Bobby Shmurda. :ohlawd:

Yep. That'll sell tickets. :lupepopcorn:

since when does sliding off the surface of a table and windmills in an office qualify as what made Shmurda popular?

Its as simple as a modern diddy bop here and there with witty lines in between which is a nutshell of the Hot nikka video.

But besides all that,

this puts into perception the type of people who dictate the type of music that my ears are bombarded by.

Imagine Young Thug showing up in a corporate office.

and a corporate Jew who looks like this:

is deciding this is the person that we should pump to the Hip Hop masses across the country, you cant say its not toxic.

Even if you say, its objectively about the money theyre not trying to destroy

You still cant ignore whats being sacrificed for that 'money'.

Are we expecting a mellow Diddy-bop to a trap beat from the same guy that got rag-dolled (Shrag-dolled?) in that Vine for the snippet of "Bobby bytch"?

Face it. This kid turns up to his music and doesn't give a fukk who the audience is. If he's a clown for it, I'll let you tell it but Shmurda's gonna Shmurda.

This vid could very well be the start of sumthing special. A shift in the conciousness of us blacks towards rap and why only certain types of artists/music gets played. @Tommy Knocks u make some great points in this thread but i think the overall outrage is finally SEEING who the "gatekeepers" of hiphop are. White folk who doesnt listen to it themselves. Somebody bought up the Ray Rice vid and i think thats a great comparison. We are all ppl who grew up and love hiphop, so to see who decides whats hot is disheartening. I ask everyone who has pride being black and love hiphop to spread this video to as many ppl as possible. Post it on all of your social media. Lets wake ourselves up to who is pushing poison to our youth. They want us to be dumb, ignorant and hating each other. Why are rappers with positive messages not pushed while rappers with "murda" and "thug" in their names are? Im so glad this vid is out. I hope that it opens our eyes to the real agenda. HIPHOP IS BEING USED AS A TOOL TO POLLUTE OUR MINDS!!!! Lets start calling out these radio programmers and DJ'S who are polluting the airwaves. There is no motivation, positivity or upliftment on black radio. We have to change this.

There is actually quite a few industry heads on here on the low. With that said.. what this showed was they had no respect for him or his "art"/ music. if they did they would have given him the proper setup to perform. They wouldnt do that to a rock band. They would have the instruments, mics, and sound setup properly for them. thats cause they would respect what they do as artist. bobby wasnt performing. There was no live mic or choreographed dance routine. He was jumping on tables like a clown, grabbing his crotch and pointing finger guns for their approval.
